RSM appoints new cyber security partner in Sydney

RSM  has announced the appointment of Ashwin Pal as a new partner specialising in cyber security and data privacy based in the firm’s Sydney office. Ashwin has more than 20 years’ experience delivering technology risk advisory services to industries such as government, financial services, energy and utilities, health, manufacturing and mining.

His skill sets encompass risk advisory, cybersecurity and resilience services, digital forensics and incident response, information and data privacy, cloud security, vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, security transformation, risk assurance,  IT security governance, and IT audit.

“Ashwin brings extensive cyber risk experience across many industries that will benefit RSM Australia’s clients. For example, Ashwin recently helped a tier-two bank achieve CPS234 compliance, which saved the bank $850,000 in fees with one project alone.

He has also led a successful security transformation project for a large government organisation and increased its cybersecurity maturity. In light of the ever-present threat of cybercrime, we have seen an increase in demand for cyber security services in the past year as more organisations proactively manage the challenges posed by a highly digital world”

Darren Booth, National Head of Cyber Security and Privacy Risk Services – Perth.
