How technology play a pivotal role in the adoption of the new lease accounting standard IFRS16/ASC842

Is your current accounting system able to accurately compute the lease liability on the balance sheet and meeting other requirements of IFRS 16/ASC842 Leases?

Are you comfortable in identifying and separating the lease and non-lease components for accounting purposes?

IFRS 16/ASC842 leases accounting takes effect in January 2019 and presents a wide range of implications that require most operating leases to be reflected on the balance sheet. Companies are now required to analyse their leases and make new estimates periodically. Apart from foreseeable challenges such as identifying an unobvious lease and computing the present value of the lease, a key painpoint would be gathering the required data and getting into the system in an organized fashion. Legacy accounting systems might not be able to tackle the changes in a simple and convenient way, which will lead to lost time, lost productivity and missing key reporting deadlines.

Join us to learn how IFRS 16/ASC842 accounting requirements and how to capture required information and calculation using lease accounting system.
