Ivy Chen is a Tax/China Practice Principal based at the Auckland office of RSM. She joined RSM in 2019.
Prior to joining RSM, Ivy had 16 years of experience working for boutique and mid-tier advisory firms as well as local and international financial institutions. She started her tax career in 2008 through working with a range of New Zealand and international clients in various tax areas, including personal and corporate tax, cross border and global mobility tax, trust and estate planning, etc. Apart from her tax expertise, Ivy also had 5 years of experience working in New Zealand property, personal and business banking sectors as well as first-hand knowledge through running family businesses in New Zealand. Her technical tax knowledge and solid business experience prove to be valuable to assist her client with solving tax and business issues in a pragmatic approach.
Ivy enjoys working with a diversified range of clients. She originally came from P.R. China and speaks fluent English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Teochew.
Ivy is a CPA with CPA Australia, an associate Chartered Accountant with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and a member of Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). She has a Master of Business in Taxation (First Class Honours) from Auckland University of Technology, a Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Massey University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Information Systems from The University of Auckland. She was a co-writer of the taxation chapter for the CCH New Zealand Master Trusts Guide (3rd edition) and an author of various tax articles on Chinese Herald newspaper.
