Biography

Peter currently leads the firm’s Professional and Business Services practice, which is dedicated to serving the needs of service businesses and professionals such as those in the IT and education sectors. In this position, he helps clients through the delivery of practical solutions for their tax, assurance, governance, risk, consulting and outsourcing support needs.
 
With many years of experience since qualifying as a chartered accountant, Peter has served clients such as law firms, advertising agencies, recruitment services firms, food and beverage businesses, trading companies as well as Registered and Licensed Fund Management Companies.
 
Peter’s experience includes 8 years with Horwath & Horwath in Melbourne, Australia, where he managed audits of the firm’s diverse clientele, in particular, property development and management, retail fashion, tourism and motor dealerships. These clients included public listed companies and large private groups. In addition to audit services, he was involved in legal support work, due diligence reviews and the provision of expert advice to a number of clients. He had also been involved in consultancy assignments such as the implementation of controls for treasury, construction and inventory operations.
 
During his two-year tenure at Peat Marwick in Singapore, Peter’s portfolio of audit clients included banks, multinational manufacturing companies and local trading groups. He was also involved in the due diligence review and preparation of the independent accountants report of a company that was successfully listed on the Singapore Exchange.

Earlier in his career, Peter was a Management Accountant in charge of the accounting department in relation to refinery operations at Caltex (Asia) Ltd in Singapore.

Peter joined RSM in Singapore in 1997 and was made a partner in 2002. Specialising in audit, litigation support/forensic accounting and special assignments, he has acted as Reporting Accountant for several IPOs on the Singapore Exchange. He was also previously a member of the Financial Reporting Committee and the Education Sub-Committee of the Financial Reporting Committee of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.
