Anthony Tam
Senior Director, Tax & Advisory
Anthony Tam is a highly respected tax professional with over 40 years of experience in international tax and transfer pricing across Hong Kong and China. He has held several prominent roles in the profession, including Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) from 2018 to 2019 and was a member of the Joint Liaison Committee of Taxation of Hong Kong from 2018 to 2021, a key advisory body involving Hong Kong’s tax authorities. In 2020, he was appointed Honorary Advisor to the State Administration of Taxation in China, recognising his expertise in cross-border tax matters.
Anthony began his career with Deloitte Tax in Toronto, becoming a tax partner before relocating to Deloitte Hong Kong, and then Shenzhen, where he established and led the local tax practice. During his 18-year tenure with Deloitte, he spent 13 years as Tax Deputy Managing Partner for Southern China, overseeing tax operations across Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Macao.
After retiring from Deloitte in 2018, he joined Forvis Mazars as Lead Tax Partner for Hong Kong and China, and served as Asia Pacific Tax Leader. Since 2020, he has led Forvis Mazars' field audit and tax investigation team, while continuing to guide regional tax strategy.
Anthony is also a dedicated educator. He has been the Course Director for the HKICPA Advanced Diploma in Taxation for over a decade and regularly teaches China tax courses at the Tax Academy of Singapore.
