Associate Director, Tax & Advisory

Carey has over 15 years of experience in Hong Kong tax advisory and compliance, serving a broad range of clients, including multinational corporations, listed groups, private businesses and high-net-worth individuals. He has extensive experience advising clients in the financial services sector, particularly funds and asset managers, as well as clients in banking, brokerage and securities, and insurance.  His industry experience also spans shipping, logistics, trading and other commercial sectors.

Carey advises clients on a wide range of corporate tax compliance and advisory matters, including cross-border tax planning, group restructuring, stamp duty, tax due diligence and tax controversy. He also handles complex Hong Kong profits tax matters and Inland Revenue Department enquiries, providing practical and commercially focused advice. His cross-border experience includes advising on Hong Kong tax matters involving business activities and investments in Mainland China and the Greater Bay Area.

Before joining RSM, Carey held tax roles at Big Four and other professional services firms. He has also been involved in tax technology and process improvement initiatives, including the development and implementation of automation tools, practice management platforms and robotic process automation workflows. His experience extends to applying emerging technologies to improve the efficiency of tax research and compliance processes.
