During the fifth wave of the epidemic, people in Hong Kong, especially the elderly, low-income groups, and frontline workers are facing overwhelming and stressful challenges. Over 98% of elderly homes were infected, making them the new epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic.  Besides, the findings of several surveys conducted in Hong Kong have shown that the epidemic has resulted in the aggravation of emotional stress and mental health problems among teenagers.

To avoid further worsening situations, all sectors of the community are joining hands to fight the virus.  RSM Hong Kong also spares no effort and make our best to support the community, launching a campaign namely “All hands on deck, fight the epidemic”, aims at encouraging and assisting customers to fulfill their social responsibilities, giving back to the society in the process of business development. Apart from providing monetary donations, the Firm also coordinates different sectors, creates a platform for them to contribute the society, in order to accelerate the direct delivery of anti-epidemic supplies to people in need.  Not only we are devoted to our client’s business development, but also to our community.

RSM Hong Kong is honored to have the generous support of our client, China Biotech Services Holdings Limited (8037.hk), by donating 20,000 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) kits to Hong Kong Society for the Aged and Youth Outreach. Mr. Eugene Liu, Managing Partner of RSM Hong Kong, and Mr. Carl Yu, Partner of Audit and Assurance, together with Mr. Alex Cheung, Vice President of China Biotech Services Holdings Limited, attended the donation ceremony. Mr. Kent Wong, Chairman of Youth Outreach, and Ms. Edith Shih, Director of the Eastern District Elderly Community Centre of Hong Kong Society for the Age accepted the donations on behalf of their organisations.

China Biotech was established in 1996, listed in HKEX Growth Enterprise Market in 2004. The company engaged in the pathological examination. It is now the second-largest medical centre in Hong Kong.  China Biotech played its greatest role in this RSM Hong Kong’s “All hands on deck, fight the epidemic” campaign, committed to responding quickly to society's needs.

One of the beneficiaries is Hong Kong Society for the Aged. In the past 45 years, the SAGE has provided a variety of support services for the elderly in residential homes and the community, as well as caregivers, serving more than 35,000 people a day.  The donated anti-epidemic supplies will be distributed to over 2,400 senior citizens from 23 elderly homes, day care and district centres.  Another beneficiary organisation is Youth Outreach.  Since its establishment in 1991, it has been dedicated to assisting youth in crisis by providing outreach, accommodation and counselling services to support them in rebuilding their self-esteem and confidence. The donated materials will be used to support over 2,200 youth, outreach teams and frontline staff.
