BIOGRAPHY
Tuhin Chaturvedi is a Tax Partner with RSM Kuwait. He holds an MSc with Distinction in Professional Accountancy from the University of London, UK and is a Fellow of the ICAI and an Associate of the ICAEW. Tuhin brings more than 30 years of progressively responsible, international post-qualification experience to assist his clients in resolving their Kuwait & wider MENA tax matters. In addition, Tuhin has lived and worked in Canada, India, Indonesia, Oman, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates and has travelled globally.

SOLUTIONS
- Reviewing draft tenders and contracts and advising clients of the tax implications and the impact on pricing.
- Advising clients on choice of entity keeping in view Kuwait’s network of Double Taxation Agreements (DTAs).
- Reviewing tax declarations, ensuring that all available benefits have been claimed and discussing potentially contentious filing positions with clients.
- Leading client’s inspections by the Kuwait Tax Authorities (KTA) and discussing contentious filing positions with them.
- Concluding these tax inspections with the aim of obtaining the most favourable assessments for clients.
- Assisting clients with obtaining the release of their retentions and various tax clearance certificates from the KTA.
SIGNIFICANT PROJECTS
- Detailed discussions on tax controversies with the revenue authorities of several countries and ongoing engagement with the KTA.
- Preparation and submission to the Kuwait Banking Association (KBA) of a report on how banks should be treated for VAT purposes in Kuwait.
- Implementing a global system of charging amounts to client entities based on their real-time use of intellectual property.
- Overseeing the tax affairs of numerous entities over wide geographical areas and reporting on these matters to management.
