The Government of Maharashtra has notified the Maharashtra Gems and Jewellery Policy 2025. The policy document is attached herewith for your reference and perusal.

The policy aims to position Maharashtra as a global hub for gems and jewellery manufacturing, innovation, and trade by promoting advanced infrastructure, technology adoption, skill development, and export-led growth. It lays down a comprehensive framework covering infrastructure development (including jewellery parks and clusters), research and development initiatives, workforce upskilling, ease of doing business, and a wide range of fiscal and non-fiscal incentives for eligible units.

Key highlights of the policy include:

  • Development of dedicated jewellery parks, clusters, and common facility centres.
  • Strong focus on technology, innovation, sustainability, and R&D.
  • Incentives for MSMEs, large, mega and ultra-mega projects.
  • Social support for women entrepreneurs and other specified categories.
  • Export promotion measures
  • Convergence with Central and State Government schemes.
  • A defined institutional framework for monitoring and implementation.

This policy will be in force for a period of 5 years from the date of approval or till a new policy is announced.
