The Government of India has announced the implementation of the Four Labour Codes, i.e. the Code on Wages, 2019, Industrial Relations Code, 2020, Code on Social Security, 2020, and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 with effect from 21 November 2025. These Codes consolidate 29 central labour laws into a unified and contemporary framework aimed at improving regulatory clarity, wage standardisation, and social security coverage.
