We are pleased to circulate our publication titled Decoding the Income Tax Act, 2025: Key Changes at a Glance for your reference.

This Publication outlines the key features of the Income-tax Act, 2025, which marks an important development in India’s direct tax framework and is scheduled to come into effect from 1 April 2026.The analysis focuses on the structural reorganisation, re-drafting and rationalisation of provisions under the new law, read alongside the corresponding provisions of the Income-tax Act, 1961.

The Publication provides for the following:

.  An overview of the legislative background and evolution leading to the enactment of the Income Tax Act 2025;
.  A comparative snapshot of the framework, structure, and organisation of the two Acts; and
.  An analysis of key provisions, highlighting areas of continuity as well as drafting and structural changes.

While the legislative intent of the Income Tax Act, 2025, is not to introduce substantive tax policy changes, the rephrasing and restructuring of provisions requires careful evaluation of the provisions.
