Recently, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (‘MCA’) issued the Companies (Compromises, Arrangements and Amalgamations) Amendment Rules, 2025 vide Notification dated 4 September 2025, wherein the scope of fast-track mergers and demergers in India have been rationalised and widened, and certain procedural aspects have been refined. This is in line with the budget announcement of financial year 2025-26 made by Hon’ble Finance Minister.
