The new regulation for Puerto Rico Incentives Code 9248 became effective on January 20th, 2021

Through this regulation, provisions for Act 60 of 2019 (known as the Puerto Rico Incentives Code) went into effect with the purpose of establishing the norms, requirements and criteria to be used in the application and awarding of the benefits granted under this law.

One of the most significant changes introduced by this regulation is the increase in application fees for incentives under Act 60. As stated in Article 6020.01(b)(3)-1 of the regulation, these are the most frecuent application fees:

  1. Individual investors - $5,000 
  2. Exporting of goods and services - $1,000
  3. Young entrepreneurs - $100
  4. Manufacturing - $1,000
  5. Infrastructure and green energy - $1,000
  6. Agroindustries - $1,000
  7. Creative industries - $1,000
