They say a child can teach an adult three things:  To be happy for no reason, to always be curious, and to fight tirelessly for something.

This was evident last month, when RSM Community Outreach, an internal committee at RSM Puerto Rico dedicated to civil and community service, visited Hogar Cuna San Cristóbal in Caguas, Puerto Rico.  This organization, founded in 1992, offers a temporary home and better quality of life for abused children (up to seven years of age) that are either removed from their homes or relinquished voluntarily by their mothers, while awaiting for adoption.

Hogar Cuna San Cristóbal’s call is Offering Love Alternatives (Brindando Alternativas de Amor).  With other RSM employees and their children, members of RSM Community Outreach did just that.  They visited this organization, alongside characters from Atención Atención, bringing a little sunshine and cookies into their lives.  They cuddled, they laughed and they listened to stories read by the group.  No words can express the warmth and humility felt by RSM employees by just sharing a little time of their lives with these precious beings.  The joy and gratitude expressed by the children will stay with them forever.

After an afternoon of fun and hugs, it was time to go - with a heavy heart, full of love, knowing that these children felt The Power of Being UnderstoodFor more information on Hogar Cuna San Cristobal, visit www.hogarcunasancristobal.com
