griselle1.pngEffective July 1, 2018, RSM Puerto Rico (“RSM”) promoted Senior Tax Manager Griselle Alvarez and admitted her as the newest member of the partnership.  A momentous event, this well-earned promotion further solidifies what has for years been a remarkable, rapidly growing Tax Division, and opens the door for the practice to continue diversifying its client base.  It is also aligned with RSM’s long-term succession planning process, which aims to continue adding deserving homegrown talent to the leadership team.

Griselle earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Puerto Rico, where she distinguished herself with Magna Cum Laude honors in Accounting.  A Certified Public Accountant, she spent several years as a tax practitioner with local and international firms operating in Puerto Rico, as well as at the Tax Department of a prominent public corporation.  Eventually, she enrolled at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where she graduated with Cum Laude honors.  She was admitted to the bar in 2014.

For over 20 years, Griselle has helped clients address a wide variety of tax-related issues in areas such as tax planning, tax compliance, tax reorganizations, tax exemption grants, sales and use taxes and other tax matters.  She has been invited to speak at several seminars, including those sponsored by the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants.  She joined RSM in 2010.

Rafael De Rojas, Director of the RSM Tax Division, eagerly commented that “having Griselle join the partnership evidences our precipitous growth pattern, and we expect her to help perpetuate it for years to come.”  As well, RSM Managing Partner Doris Barroso added that “with the addition of Griselle to the partnership, we further set the table for a new generation of partners that shall continue to provide service excellence to our growing clientele.

Indeed, Griselle is bound to improve the firm’s ability to afford all of its clients The Power of Being Understood.
