From 1991 till 2004, Atiar brings in more than thirteen years of working experience (retiring as General Manager) with Beximco, the largest conglomerate in the country, prior to joining the firm in 2004. Atiar also served in the Bangladesh member firm of now defunct Arthur Anderson.

He is a past council member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh and served as Vice President of the Institute in 2006.
