HR Insights March 2021 - Monthly corona teleworking declaration as from 1 April 2021

From April 2021 onwards, employers are obliged to submit a monthly declaration to the NSSO as part of the monitoring of the compulsory teleworking that is currently in place due to the corona crisis. The obligation applies to all employers, except for the companies who are obliged to be completely closed.

With regard to content, the total number of employees must be registered, as well as the number of employees who perform a function that cannot be performed by means of telework; both on the first working day of the month and per unit of establishment if the company has multiple units of establishment.

The latter group must still be in possession of a certificate from the employer.

The declaration must be made no later than the 6th calendar day of the month. The first declaration therefore has to be made at the latest on 6 April 2021 and should contain the numbers as on the date of 1 April 2021.

Anyone who has a teleworkable job, but is still present in the company, will have to be able to justify his/her presence.
