Oi! Me chamo Wingyan. Eu sou estudante de Hong Kong, mas agora estou estudando em Singapura pela universidade. Minha especialização é política econômica e filosofia. Eu trabalhei na RSM por dois meses.

My research focus in university has often been Latin-American related. To further my understanding in Latin American economy / politics, I decided to look for an internship in Brazil, the largest economy in Latin America. I found RSM through an internship agency and I was thrilled by the opportunity to work in their three offices here: Curitiba, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Honestly I never thought my first internship experience would be so extraordinary. And I owe this to the awesome people in RSM HR department and my internship agency.

At RSM, I was mainly helping Janaina at China desk to build a database of chinese clients in Latin America. Other than that, I wrote articles about the business trends in China and South American countries. In my research, I learned that China has a robust presence in Latin America. That experience might initially appear unsustainable in its extractive nature, but I noticed that Chinese businesses are gradually shifting to technology and infrastructure investment that bring positive effects on local living standards.

One unforgettable experience in my stay at RSM came from the Curitiba office. There was this one time when we were blasting Raça Negra and other Brazilian music in the office and I learned for the first time what Brazilian funk is. We laughed so much together that my colleague would say “When the cat goes out of the house the mouse party”. Um beijo para vocês em Curitiba!

Thank you :)
