RSM Studio Palea Lauri Gerla has provided assistance to Ibiden Europe B.V., a sub-holding under Dutch law of the Japanese company Ibiden, in the acquisition of a majority stake in L.G. Graphite S.r.l., a historical company in the Basso Lodigiano area  operating in the field of isostatic, extruded and carbo-graphite processing.
Ibiden is an important Japanese group which, with a turnover of approximately three billion dollars and a solid presence in North America, the rest of Asia and Europe, produces and sells electronic substrates, special graphite products, ceramic products and special filters for the construction and automotive sectors all over the world.
Concerning the transaction, Contardi family sold a majority stake in LG Graphite with the aim of exploiting the synergies and leadership of the Asian giant to consolidate the Italian market and further develop the foreign market. Ettore Contardi, who retains a minority stake, was appointed CEO of the new company resulting from the M&A transaction. 
RSM Studio Palea Lauri Gerla provided financial advice on the transaction, assisting Ibiden with a team composed of Marcello Rabbia (Partner) and Federico Vai (Partner), with the support of Gianni Poggi (Senior Manager) for accounting and tax aspects. RSM also provided legal assistance with the team headed by Marco Carlizzi (Partner) and composed of Francesca Taviano (Partner) and Mariolina Colomba (Senior Manager).
