The half-yearly study shows a 4% increase in the number of sales transactions between EUR 0.5 and 30 million compared to the first half of 2021. Most acquisitions are still in the 'business services' sector, but construction, IT services and software development remain dominant with a total share of 45% of all transactions. The average EBITDA for H2-2021 stabilises at 4.85 (as for H1-2021).

  • 58% of advisers expect the market to stabilise further.
  • 39% of advisors expect an increase in buyout activity.

The figures show that entrepreneurs are selling their businesses at an increasingly younger age.
