SparingVision: Acquisition of GAMUT Therapeutics

SparingVision, a genomic medicine company developing treatments for eye diseases, announced on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, that it had reached a definitive agreement to acquire GAMUT Therapeutics, a pioneering biotechnology company with a unique and independent gene-based approach to treating advanced stages of “rod-cone” dystrophies such as retinitis pigmentosa. The acquisition, subject to legal formalities and approval by the shareholders of both companies, will be primarily paid in new SparingVision shares and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2021.
