The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy of the Republic of Macedonia announced in the Official Gazette No. 126/18 the new adjusted amount of the minimum gross salary in the Republic of Macedonia. For the period from July 2018, including the payment of the salary for March 2019, the lowest gross salary is 17,370.00 MKD (approximately 282,00 EUR).

According to the new amendments of the Law on Minimum Salary in the Republic of Macedonia, which came into force in September 2017, adjustment of the minimum gross salary was planned, in July 2018 and then in March each year.

Adjustment of the minimum wage is calculated on basis of three components:

  • one third of the increase in the average paid salary in the Republic of Macedonia;
  • one third of the rise in the consumer price index and
  • one-third of the real GDP growth for the previous year, according to the State Statistical Office data.

Additionally, we would like to emphasize that with the decision of the Constitutional Court, achievement of the normalized work performance is canceled as a condition for obtaining the minimum salary.
