Owing to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Thai Revenue Department announced a further extension for E-tax filings for the months of August 2021 – November 2021. This is to encourage use of the online system for the filing and payment of taxes.
Below is filing schedule for monthly withholding tax returns in respect of Thai personal income tax.

For the following cases no extension for tax return filing and payment of tax shall be granted;
- Taxpayers who make an additional tax submission via the internet after submitting their tax returns in paper form.
- Taxpayers who submit the tax returns via the Internet and subsequently submit an additional return in paper form.
Any tax returns submitted after the due date which do not comply with the filing extension conditions shall result in a penalty and surcharges.
Reduction of Social Security Contribution Rates
With reference to the Social Security Office Announcement in relation to the reduction of mandatory social security contributions effective from 1 June 2021 – 31 August 2021, inclusive, on 7 September 2021, the Social Security Board approved the extension of the reduction of mandatory social security contributions from 5% to 2.5% for a further 3 months from 1 September 2021 – 30 November 2021, Inclusive.
This was approved by the Minister of Labour on 21 September 2021.
