The Joint Ordinance was signed on March 14, 2018, in partnership between the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (RFB) - the Brazilian IRS, and the Brazilian Army, in order to facilitate the importation of products controlled by the Army, such as weapons, ammunition and chemicals production. In practice, the RBF/Army Joint Ordinance formally authorize the beginning of work between these two bodies.

In this sense, in the stage of negotiation, it was contemplated the possibility of the Army being inserted in the AEO from the Federal Revenue. In order to consolidate this pact, it would be necessary to establish, within its competence, requirements and criteria of safety and compliance to bring about the authorizations. As an example, on importation, the Brazilian Army needs to individually grant each authorization of the products it controls, and a way of accomplishing as a “block agreement” was discussed.

Considering that a partnership with other consenting bodies, such as the MAPA - Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Trade, has already been carried out, in this phase of expansion of negotiations with other bodies of the State that control foreign trade, the aim is to extend the benefits offered to companies certified as AEO. Such certified companies are recognized by the Brazilian Customs and considered of reduced risk in terms of physical security and in compliance with the best customs practices.

The AEO - Integrated between the RFB and the Brazilian Army, is another initiative to facilitate import procedures in the country, thus reducing the operational costs of companies by optimizing the management of human resources for public bodies.
