An audit is more than a statutory requirement. Done well, it gives management, shareholders, banks and investors confidence in the numbers behind their decisions. RSM Croatia provides audit services from offices in Zagreb, Split and Koprivnica: statutory and voluntary audits for companies across Croatia, with practical recommendations for management.

Expectations are rising. Regulators want more transparency, lenders want more detail and foreign shareholders want reporting aligned with international standards. At the same time, management time is precious. That is why we plan every audit to be thorough yet efficient, without placing unnecessary demands on your team.

Our approach

Every audit starts with understanding your business and its key risks. Based on that, we agree a plan with clear deadlines and a list of the documents we need. We discuss findings with you openly and in good time, so you hear about important issues as they arise. Independence and professional scepticism underpin every engagement, and our work is supported by the methodology and quality standards of the RSM network.

Audit services in Croatia: frequently asked questions

Under the Croatian Accounting Act, medium-sized and large undertakings and public-interest entities must have their annual financial statements audited, and the requirement can also apply to other companies that exceed statutory thresholds. We are happy to check whether it applies to your company.

The length of the process depends on the size and complexity of the business. The audit usually runs in two phases: an interim audit during the year and a final audit after year-end (January-end of June).

It is a check of a project's costs and documentation, usually performed as an agreed-upon procedures engagement under ISRS 4400. The practitioner does not express an opinion but reports factual findings, which the funding body uses to assess whether costs are eligible.

Independence rules limit which services an auditor may provide to an audit client. We check independence before every engagement, and where we are also your auditor, we provide other services only within the independence rules. For example, we do not audit or perform agreed-upon procedures on an EU-funded project that we helped prepare or implement.
