RSM announces its plans to expand in the Mediterranean region. "As part of this initiative, the regional division plans to recruit about fifteen people in 2022, as well as develop a new inter-professional hub that integrates new areas of expertise, particularly in real estate and wealth management."

With strong growth in 2021, RSM in the Mediterranean confirms its role as a key player in consulting, audit, and expertise in Occitanie.

  • RSM, the 6th largest global network of audit, consulting, and accounting services, strengthens its position as a growth partner for businesses, particularly SMEs, mid-sized companies (ETIs), and large corporations in Occitanie.
  • Present in the region for over 70 years, RSM’s Mediterranean presence achieved a 7% growth in 2021 with a turnover of 14 million euros. The network now has 190 employees and 9 partners across Montpellier, Nîmes, and Uzès.
  • Building on this momentum, RSM has moved to new offices in Nîmes and Montpellier in 2022.
  • The network is also expanding its scope of expertise in accounting, audit, statutory auditing, and social consulting in the Mediterranean region. As part of this plan, the regional division expects to recruit around fifteen people in 2022 and develop a new inter-professional hub integrating new expertise, including real estate and wealth management.

Sustained organic and external growth

Strongly established in Montpellier, Nîmes, Uzès, and throughout Occitanie, RSM in the Mediterranean has accelerated its development over the past two years. The firm has more than doubled in size over the past five years, with 190 employees today. In addition to organic growth, the Occitanie branch has welcomed three new firms in Montpellier and Nîmes since 2020. As a result, the network has expanded its regional footprint through several mergers and acquisitions.

These ambitions are accompanied by essential real estate investments to support both external and organic growth across its two main areas of expertise. One is in Montpellier, where a move at the end of 2022 will bring the teams together into a new nearly 3,000 m² space. The other is in Nîmes, where since November 2021, the three local offices have been merged into one 1,800 m² location, with an official inauguration on June 23, 2022.

"Through these acquisitions and large-scale projects, we aim to reach a significant size that will allow us to become the leading firm in our region. Beyond external growth, we are focusing on developing new services to position ourselves as a one-stop-shop for the leaders of our regional companies. The creation of synergies across expertise and inter-professionalism seems to be the best response to their needs and expectations," comments Fernand Léal, partner at RSM and President of RSM in the Mediterranean.

A One-stop-shop for businesses

RSM’s ambition in the Mediterranean, as well as in France, is to become a unique point of contact for its clients by providing tailored advice that covers all their needs.

Attentive to efficient organization and responsive to businesses' needs, the teams are organized into specialized hubs and sector-specific expertise groups that understand the challenges of each sector, including healthcare, education, start-ups, viticulture, real estate, and hospitality. Innovation is also present, with a range of digital tools adapted to each company type. Tomorrow's challenges, such as electronic invoicing, digitalization, and CSR, are already at the heart of RSM’s concerns, allowing the firm to anticipate future client needs and equip itself with the expertise to address them.

In Occitanie, RSM plans to recruit 50 employees this year, including accountants and legal experts. It is also recruiting 15 experienced financial auditors for the second large accounts audit team recently established in Paris. The region anticipates an 8% growth for 2022.
