RSM, the world’s 6th largest audit, accounting and consulting network, is consolidating its presence in the Grand Est region with the integration of CAP 21, a firm based in the Strasbourg metropolitan area.

Already established in Colmar and Strasbourg, this third office reinforces RSM’s footprint in the Strasbourg area and expands its scope of services, with expertise in wealth management, executive advisory, sustainability consulting, and a dedicated practice focused on the hospitality sector.

This move is part of RSM’s growth strategy, centred on delivering multidisciplinary support to businesses through strong regional operations.

It further strengthens the firm’s positioning as a leading network supporting the strategic development of mid-sized companies (ETIs) and SMEs at the local level.

RSM acquires CAP 21, based in Strasbourg (Illkirch-Graffenstaden). The firm supports more than 300 business leaders.

RSM, a key player in the accounting profession in Strasbourg

In eastern France, RSM is already well-established, with a Colmar office comprising 6 partners and 105 staff, as well as an existing office in Strasbourg led by Emilie Hatiyé. The network is strengthening its presence in Strasbourg with this new office—an accounting and advisory firm made up of 17 professionals. Thierry Guth, founder of CAP 21, becomes a Partner at RSM and will continue to lead the office alongside fellow chartered accountants Etienne Risser, Marie Kreye Dauer, and Zlatina Naydenova.

RSM will now draw on CAP 21’s local partnerships—with the Merchants Association, Alsace’s Territorial Development Agency (ADIRA), Chambers of Commerce and Crafts, and the Universities of Strasbourg and Haute Alsace—to reinforce its role as a strategic partner to business leaders.

A comprehensive range of services for businesses and their leaders

The Strasbourg office offers a full spectrum of services, from business creation and HR consulting to strategic growth support, both in France and internationally. In addition to accounting services, the team has developed expertise in executive wealth management—including executive social protection, group health insurance management, and personal financial planning. The office also collaborates with Finexpertpro.com and Mahaka, a trusted professional community supporting chartered accountants in developing their wealth management offerings.

A founding member of the RSE (CSR) Club of the Order of Chartered Accountants in the East, the firm is also a recognised sustainability advisory specialist and was one of the first in France to earn the "Responsibility Europe" label from AFNOR for its CSR approach.

The team also supports executives across several sectors: trades and crafts, hospitality and catering, real estate, and liberal professions. In the hospitality sector, the office leads tourism engineering projects in partnership with Protourisme, a major player in tourism consultancy.

This integration creates synergies with RSM’s existing offices in Colmar and Strasbourg to reinforce current areas of expertise and develop new specialisations. RSM also aims to harmonise methods and tools while ensuring continuity through the involvement of the founding partners.

“Our decision to join RSM reflects our ambition to begin a new chapter in our development. From being an independent firm to joining a national network, we now want to offer our teams greater career opportunities by leveraging the RSM brand and the network’s technical expertise. CAP 21 becomes the RSM Strasbourg South office while maintaining its core values: client proximity, specialised expertise, and team commitment,” said Thierry Guth, founder of CAP 21 and new Partner at RSM.

“We were impressed by the energy of CAP 21 and its founder, Thierry Guth. Beyond the synergies in expertise and sector focus, we share a common entrepreneurial path. This new integration reinforces our position as a leading network for the strategic support of dynamic mid-sized companies and SMEs, both locally and in neighbouring countries,” added Philippe Cotleur, Partner and President of RSM in the Grand Est region.

In the Grand Est region, RSM now aims to roll out its expertise across other economic hubs (Nancy, Metz, Belfort, and Mulhouse) and may consider further integrations in the medium term.
