Purpose
The Public Interest Supervision Committee was established with the aim of contributing to the creation of a more transparent corporate management system by supervising and evaluating the effectiveness of corporate management functions, utilizing the expertise of external members, in line with the increasing social responsibility required of audit firms and the strengthening of their corporate management functions.
External expert committee members
Toshio Kinoshita (Certified Public Accountant, Tax Accountant, US Certified Public Accountant)
- After joining Coopers & Drybrand Japan (now PwC Japan LLC), he served as a partner at Coopers & Drybrand and PricewaterhouseCoopers in the United States.
- Subsequently, he became the first Executive Director of the Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
- After stepping down as Executive Director of the Institute, he served as President and CEO of Global Professional Partners Co., Ltd., a corporate advisor, and an outside director of listed companies.
Hideki Taka
- After joining the National Tax Agency (later transferred to the Ministry of Finance), he held various positions including Deputy Director of the Shibuya Tax Office, Vice Governor of Shizuoka Prefecture, Budget Officer at the Ministry of Finance, and Director of the Hokkaido Regional Finance Bureau.
- After retiring from the Ministry of Finance, he served as President and CEO of private companies, corporate advisor, and outside director of listed companies.
Independence of external experts
In appointing external experts, we have confirmed that their independence is ensured in accordance with the concepts of outside directors under the Companies Act and independent directors under the Tokyo Stock Exchange Listing Regulations, and that there are no conflicts of interest or situations that raise concerns about independence between RSM Seiwa Audit Corporation and the audited companies.
