By capitalising on the worst CBD vacancy rates in the country, RSM Australia has secured a highly coveted branding opportunity on new Perth office premises offering space to grow.

The company’s 220-plus local staff will relocate from St Georges Terrace which has been home for virtually three decades, into more spacious and prestigious office space at Perth’s premier business address, Exchange Tower, The Esplanade.

Plans to continue growing staff numbers within its Perth office, reflects the 160 percent growth in staff numbers experienced by the mid-tier accounting firm nationally to 1100 since 2000, with aggregate fees up 6 percent to $172 million in the 12 months to June 30 2016.

To reflect sustained support for its core service lines such as audit, tax and consulting services, plus exponential demand for its diversified services, RSM Australia has secured levels 31 to 33 of the recently refurbished Exchange Tower.

Included within its leasing coup, successfully brokered by Venn Property Group, are signage rights that will see the RSM Australia brand emblazoned in lights atop the 40-level premium-grade office tower.

Managing partner of RSM Australia’s Perth office, Con Paoliello says signage rights will heighten local awareness of the RSM brand, now the world's sixth-biggest accounting network.

Another major coup within the 12-year lease negotiated with Knight Frank, adds Paoliello is the ability to grow existing staff levels by up to 15 per cent, but with 10 percent less floor space than it has now.

In addition to offering a more efficient use of office space, RSM Australia’s new location will provide state-of-the-art workspaces, smart lift technology, and extensive multi-functional meeting spaces for clients.

New offices will also offer sweeping vistas of the new waterfront development at nearby Elizabeth Quay. Unconfirmed reports that Chevron’s proposed tower development will be limited to 28 floors, means these views will never be blocked out.

Paoliello also expects the Exchange Tower’s best in class technology-enabled offices to allow for closer collaboration with clients, within an environment complementary with other first-tier offices globally, including Sydney, Melbourne, New York and London.

“Having our name in lights across Perth will help to align RSM Australia with global rebranding initiated in 2015 which support a sense of one-company/one-brand,” says Paoliello.

“Our new state-of-the-art workspace is designed to empower employees to do their best work for clients within a highly collaborative and interactive environment. Both staff and clients will also benefit from proximity to transport, end-of-trip facilities and offices that provide for mobile working.

We will be inviting clients to use our offices and its facilities for their meetings, should they have the need for it.”

The move is expected to occur in July 2017.
