RSM Mozambique is recruiting a Mining Senior Engineer for a client based in Maputo/Cabo Delgado - Balama, for immediate integration.

 

Position: Mining Senior Engineer  

Location:  Maputo/Cabo Delgado - Balama

 

Responsibilities:

 

⇒ Daily management of planning activities considering weekly, monthly, annual, and long-term production plans;

⇒  Assist in the planning and budgeting of the open pit mine and minimize production costs;

⇒  Review deadlines and implement contingency plans necessary to meet production targets;

⇒  Perform the technical planning through Surpac and MineSched for the Mining department;

⇒  Ensure the modeling of the mine is up to date, and plan all the vital points for the operation of the mine;

⇒  Produce, review, and approve operating schedules, plans and designs;

⇒ Liaise with the Balama management team and mining contractor to ensure daily, weekly and monthly production and quality conforms to plan;

⇒  Responsible for the compilation of short & long term mine plans and other such plans as required;

⇒  Compile, review, report and present reconciliation against plan;

⇒  Provide leadership and support to the technical services team;

⇒  Assist with Business Improvement project initiatives;

⇒  Identify the appropriate skills, competencies and experience required within the department, and implement strategies to address any gaps;

⇒  Drive a culture of regular coaching and mentoring with direct reports through facilitation of regular meetings and one-on-one engagement;

⇒  Drill & Blast design; Produce D&B plans and instructions for contractor to execute.

Qualifications and Professional Experience:

⇒  Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent;

⇒  Minimum of 7 years’ open pit mining experience;

⇒ Mine optimization, mine design and strategic and tactical mine planning and scheduling capability and experience;

⇒  Experience with Surpac and MineSched software and strong computer skills across the Microsoft Office suite;

⇒  Strong understanding of the development & implementation of Safety Management System;

⇒  Demonstrate a detailed understanding of relevant costs and the ability to analyze data to achieve optimal outcomes;

⇒  Experience in a Greenfields mining environment, and a high degree of cultural awareness

Skills and Competencies:

 

⇒  Excellent communication;

⇒  Organizational and problem solving ability;

⇒  Avaibility to work 4 weeks in Maputo and 4 weeks in Balama.
