B-BBEE Manager/Head Of Department

We are currently looking for a B-BBEE Manager/Head of Department (HOD) for our Johannesburg office. This role reports to the B-BBEE Director and the Legal Director. This is a client facing consulting role, below is a guideline of the role and responsibilities, qualifications and requirements.

Role and responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing leadership and direction to the B-BBEE consulting team. This involves setting goals, developing strategies, and ensuring that the team is effectively executing client assignments and deliverables.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients. Overseeing client relationships which includes providing strategic advice and ensuring that the agreed services are delivered on time and at the required standard.
  • Playing a key role in business development, driving departmental growth to achieve stated targets by identifying new opportunities, maintaining existing client relationships, and participating in business development activities such as client pitches and presentations.
  • Responsible for training and developing staff members and ensure that they have the necessary skills and resources to effectively perform their roles.
  • Identify risks associated with B-BBEE consulting assignments, ensure compliance with relevant internal policies, regulations and ethical standards.
  • Engage with clients to develop and implement effective B-BBEE strategies based on the Generic Scorecard and the Sector Codes.
  • Draft B-BBEE strategy progress reports and action plans.
  • Assisting with the B-BBEE strategy for RSM South Africa, and assist in preparing RSM South Africa for verification.
  • Stay updated on changes in B-BBEE legislation, best practices, compliance requirements and industry trends. Communicate these changes to clients, including providing guidance where required.
  • Performing net value calculations.
  • Assisting with financial modelling calculations.
  • Analysis of client information and preparing indicative scorecard assessments.
  • Conduct training sessions for client staff to increase awareness of B-BBEE requirements and best practices.
  • Writing articles on B-BBEE and related subject matter to inform our clients.

Qualifications and experience

  • 7+ years’ experience in BBBEE Consulting
  • Completion of the BEE Management Development Programme.
  • Degree in Human Resources Management or B. Com is an advantage.
  • Attendance at relevant B-BBEE courses, seminars and on the job training.
  • Experience in the successful implementation of B-BBEE strategies and consulting with relevant stakeholders (e.g. Clients, Verification agencies, Department of Trade and Industry, BEE Commission)
  • Experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Excellent knowledge of B-BBEE Act and Codes, including the Generic Codes and Sector Codes.
