What did you do before coming to RSM Switzerland?
Before RSM, I did an apprenticeship as a commercial employee followed by a federal maturity. After that, I attended the Haute Ecole de Gestion de Genève, and, finally, completed the very sought-after MSc in Accounting, control and finance program at HEC Lausanne, ranked 2nd in Europe in accounting-related university programs.
At the end of my Master's degree in February 2022, I was directly hired at RSM Switzerland in the Geneva office as an intern and now as a junior auditor.
Why did you choose to work at RSM Switzerland?
I almost continued for a year with my previous employer. However, I interviewed for a Big 4 firm and RSM Switzerland, choosing to join RSM Switzerland because the interview went very well and I was immediately convinced to sign. Since the beginning of my employment, I knew I had made the right choice from the diversity of the tasks and the flexibility of my hierarchy.
“My expectations have been fulfilled since I joined RSM Switzerland. I have a close-knit team, available Partners, a flexible working environment, and a variety of tasks that you won't find in Big 4, or a smaller firm”
What is it like working for a global organisation?
It is extremely important for me to know that I am working for an organisation of a certain magnitude and that has as much ambition as I do, with a reputation in the Swiss market.
Thanks to the diversity of my tasks, I am lucky enough to be able to work with a wide variety of companies and I love to see how different industries work.
What would you say to anyone who might be considering a career at RSM Switzerland?
Compared to our competitors, the work at RSM Switzerland is less "cookie cutter" and more interesting and varied than in a smaller structure.
It's nice to work in an environment in which the team is close and where it's possible to discuss things directly with your superiors, whose doors are always open.
Finally, in building my career, the opportunities and future prospects are an essential point in my eyes, which is something you will find at RSM Switzerland unlike its competitors. At RSM Switzerland, we can have more responsibility quite quickly without necessarily having a managerial rank.
How do you see your professional future?
I can definitely see myself staying in the audit field. I am 100% fulfilled in my work because I am lucky enough to be able to say that I have found what I want to do. In the short term, my goal is to pass the federal auditor's exam, and, in the longer term, I would like to have more responsibility while still having a lot of diverse tasks.
