The Government of Jersey has released details of its latest business support package.  The Co-Funded Payroll Scheme Phase 3+ follows the Phase 3 scheme, offering financial support over a longer period. The scheme is available to business, charities and sole-traders.

The Phase 3+ scheme offers support from November 2020 to March 2021, subject to eligibility criteria and funding being agreed in the Government Plan 2021 to 2024.

Eligible business can apply for a refund of employee wages up to a maximum subsidy of 60%.  The business must have suffered a detriment level of at least 20%, with the supplement being set at the level of detriment plus 10% - subject to a maximum cap of 60%.

A key change from Phase 3 to Phase 3+ is that business must apply for the support on a monthly basis rather than the previous three month claim period.

Eligibility is subject to specific criteria, which for employers claiming for employee wages require the business to registered as an employer for Social Security purposes; have already paid the staff included in the claim in the month claimed for; have submitted an Employer Class 1 Contribution return for all relevant Quarters in 2020; and, have submitted the relevant Manpower returns.

Full information on the Phase 3+ Scheme, including the full eligibility criteria and guidance on assessing detriment is available from the Government of Jersey here.
