Jersey’s £100 Spend Local Cards are due to be distributed in the second week of September.  The Cards form part of the Government of Jersey's spend local campaign which is a key component of its £150m fiscal stimulus package announced in July.

Cards will be issued to every adult and child in Jersey, regardless of age, totalling approximately £11m and can be spent at a range of business across the Island.  The £100 must be spent locally by 31 October 2020, after which any unspent amount will lapse and be returned to the Government.

Cards can be spent at any local business in Jersey that accepts Mastercard.  They can be spent in multiple locations on Island, in any amount, can be ‘pooled’ by household members for larger purchases (subject to the vendor accepting this) or can be used to purchase higher value goods or services with the difference being settled by the cardholder (again, subject to any restriction imposed by the vendor).

Anyone who was resident in Jersey and registered with Customer and Local Services (formally Social Security) on or before 30 June 2020 will be eligible to receive the £100 Spend Local Card, and can use their Card anywhere on-Island subject to certain restrictions.

More information from the Government of Jersey, including information on restrictions, is available here.
