Tax assistant opportunity
Published on August 6, 2026Job Title: Tax assistant.
Job purpose: To support the RSM tax team with preparation of personal, corporate and GST tax returns and payroll reporting, assisting clients with their tax compliance obligations, and providing administrative and technical support on tax-related matters.
Anticipated hours: 36.25 hours per week (negotiable).
Reporting to: Senior tax manager and tax manager.
Salary: TBA depending upon experience and existing skill set.
Location: Office based role at Group’s St Helier premises.
Principal responsibilities:
- Preparation of Jersey and Guernsey corporate and personal tax returns and Jersey GST returns for submission to tax authorities together with supporting schedules and records.
- Liaising with clients, intermediaries and tax authorities regarding tax matters, filings and payments, including in-person meetings.
- Monitoring reporting and payment deadlines to ensure compliance for corporate and personal taxation.
- Preparation of tax accounts for individuals and sole traders.
- Supporting tax team with UK reporting for local clients.
- Support tax advisory assignments and research into tax legislation and developments.
- Supporting the tax team and Group’s non-tax team generally with tax-related matters.
- Assisting with payroll and GST processing and reporting.
