The new Foreign Citizen Legal Framework establishes the norms of Entry, Permanence and Exit of the Country, also establishes norms regarding the entry and exit of foreign citizens under 18 years old, from Mozambique.

These provisions can be seen as one of several novelties that this legal provision provides, thus, for the purposes of entry and exit from the national territory of foreign citizens, under 18 years old, the following conditions must be met:

  • When not accompanied by the parents - it is necessary to present at the moment of entry and/or exit a written authorization by the parents or by the person who exercises the parental power, in Portuguese or translated, with notarized recognition by the competent authorities.
  • When accompanied by one of the parents - it is necessary to present at the time of entry and/or exit a written authorization from the other parent, expressing his/her consent in relation to the minor's journey, in Portuguese or translated, with a notarized acknowledgement by the competent authorities.

It is important to mention that in cases where the entry of the person to whom the minor is entrusted is refused, the order is extended to the minor and the same happens when the entry of a minor under 18 years old is refused.
