The threat landscape
Cyber risk is now business risk
Every system you connect, every cloud service you adopt and every supplier you work with widens the door attackers can use. For UAE businesses, the question is no longer whether you will be targeted, but whether you will spot it in time and recover quickly.

Why mid-sized firms are exposed
Smaller organisations are not out of reach
Headlines focus on breaches at large corporations, but small and medium-sized businesses are attractive targets precisely because their defences are often thinner. Firms that hold valuable client data, such as information on high-net-worth individuals, face even closer attention from criminals.
Attacks go unnoticed
Without continuous monitoring, many organisations cannot tell they have been breached. Attackers can sit inside a network for weeks, quietly collecting financial and customer data.
The entry points have multiplied
Phishing and stolen credentials, ransomware, AI-generated scams, misconfigured cloud services, unmanaged mobile devices and weak third-party access all create openings.
The impact goes beyond IT
A breach can halt operations, trigger regulatory reporting obligations, damage client trust and hand an advantage to competitors.

FAQs
Common questions about IT security
What is an IT security and controls review?
It is a structured assessment of how well your systems, policies and processes protect your data. It identifies gaps, ranks them by risk and sets out practical steps to close them.
Does the UAE data protection law apply to my business?
The federal Personal Data Protection Law applies to the processing of personal data in the UAE, outside the DIFC and ADGM, which have their own data protection rules. Its executive regulations are still pending, but preparing your controls now puts you in a stronger position. We can help you work out which rules apply to you.
We are a mid-sized business. Do we really need this?
Yes. Mid-sized firms often hold valuable data but have fewer security resources than large corporations, which makes them attractive targets. Right-sized controls give strong protection without enterprise-level cost.
How often should we review our IT security?
At least once a year, and whenever your business changes significantly, for example after moving to a new cloud platform, onboarding a major supplier or experiencing an incident.
