Albert Sagués
Partner. Head of Tax

Albert Sagués is the partner in charge of Tax at RSM, heads the Tax area in the Barcelona office and is an International Contact Partner.

Albert specializes in tax and financial advice to companies and groups of companies, in the tax and financial aspects of wealth management and restructuring operations. He has extensive experience in international taxation, transfer pricing, indirect taxes, and the taxation of financial products.

He is an Associate Professor at the Pompeu Fabra University, the Barcelona School of Management-UPF, where he lectures on the Master’s Degree in Taxation, Financial Markets, Banking and Finance, and at ISDE on the Master’s Degree in Law. He also works as an inhouse trainer on tax matters in financial institutions and insurance companies. Furthermore, he is a regular speaker at conferences on tax issues and works with the La Vanguardia and Diari ARA newspapers, where he maintains a blog.

Prior to his current position, Albert began his professional career at BCM, reaching the position of Manager and subsequently was Head of BDO Estudio Jurídico Socio y Tributario, before setting up his own firm, Sagués Assessors Fiscals. Albert joined TGG in 2011, which later merged with RSM.

He holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Barcelona and is an Accredited Expert Accountant and Judicial Expert.

Additionally, he is part of the Association of Economists of Catalonia, the Registry of Economists and Tax Advisors (REAF), the Spanish Association of Tax Advisors (AEDAF), the European Tax Confederation (CFE), the French Chamber of Commerce and Youth Business International (YBI).

Moreover, he has published “Taxation of Financial Products.” Ed. Bresca, 2008; and, subsequently, the “Tax Guide on Corporate Income Tax 2011-2012.” AEDAF and Cinco Días, 2011.
