Horst Hölderl is a partner at RSM, specialising in Corporate, Restructuring and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). He heads the Tax & Legal practice in the Valencia office.

He specialises in a wide range of aspects of private and commercial law, bankruptcy law (preventive agreements, refinancing, debt restructuring, viability plans, voluntary and obligatory bankruptcy); commercial law (financial and commercial transactions, corporate law, banking law and real estate); M&A operations (reorganisation and restructuring operations of domestic and foreign corporate groups: mergers, contributions of branches of activity and operations for the sale and acquisition of companies and assets); civil procedural law (civil and commercial); as well as commercial and civil arbitration. Furthermore, he is the legal advisor to several companies and secretary of the Board of Directors of others.

He has also participated in more than 300 insolvency proceedings of commercial companies as counsel to the insolvent company and as a bankruptcy practitioner.

He is a member of the European Restructuring Group of RSM; an associate of ASPAC (Professional Association of Insolvency Practitioners), and a member of the UIA (International Association of Lawyers) and its Insolvency Commission. He is also a member of the Valencia Bar Association.

Horst began his professional career at Candela, Porcel & Hölderl Abogados and later founded Hölderl & Marset, which later merged with RSM Spain.

He holds a Degree in Law and a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Commercial Law from the University of Valencia. He has a Master’s Degree in Bankruptcy Administration and Business Viability from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and developed the Corporate Restructuring, Refinancing and Bankruptcy Programme at IE Law School.

He has been an associate lecturer in Civil Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Valencia (2006-2016). He has also been a lecturer on the course “University Expert in Bankruptcy Law”, organised by the Catholic University of Valencia, San Vicente Mártir (2011-2016). He is a regular speaker on various courses, master’s degrees, conferences and seminars.

Author of the manual Introducción al Derecho Concursal and the monograph El convenio en la quiebra y en la Ley Concursal, among many other publications.
