Seán McCarthy

Corporate Tax Director

Seán McCarthy is a Corporate Tax Director with the firm, with 14 years’ experience providing corporate tax advisory services to a wide range of domestic and international clients. Prior to joining RSM Ireland, he worked within the foreign direct investment corporate tax practice of a Big 4 firm where he advised a broad range of large multinational groups, primarily US headquartered groups and private equity investments into Ireland.

At RSM Ireland, his primary practice area is the provision of corporate tax advisory services for FDI businesses across a broad range of industries, with a particular focus on technology, with Seán also co-lead of the Technology Industry Group. He has significant experience working on corporate tax structuring, including the provision of tax efficient structuring, reorganisations, and financing.

Seán leads the Pillar Two team at RSM Ireland and is also a member of the Global RSM Pillar Two Steering Group, where he supports clients navigate the complexities of the rules, to ensure full compliance.  

Seán has significant experience working on corporate tax structuring (including IP planning, tax efficient reorganisations, financing etc.), M&A tax advisory and the provision of tax due diligence services.  

Seán is a Chartered Tax Adviser and a Certified Chartered Accountant, and also holds a certificate in Transfer Pricing from the UK Institute of Tax.
