Corporate social responsibility

At RSM, we believe it's important for us to give back to the wider communities in which we operate and to support local charities. We are dedicated to operating in a socially and environmentally responsible way to better the communities which we work and live in.

Our charity partner: Barretstown

We are delighted to partner with Barretstown as our charity partner.

Barretstown offers free, specially designed camps and programmes for children affected by cancer and other serious illnesses, and their families – supported behind the scenes by 24 hour on site medical and nursing care.

The mission of Barretstown is to rebuild the lives of these children and their families, through a life changing Therapeutic Recreation programme in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. Find out more about their work here

Helping Hands volunteer day

Throughout the year, our people are given opportunities to take part in charity events and initiatives. The Barretstown Helping Hands day involved members of our team heading to Barretstown Castle in Kildare for a full day of volunteering their time. Our team got their hands dirty while helping to fix and maintain the Barretstown camp so the facilities are safe, secure, and beautiful for the children and families that take part in the camps held onsite. Our staff spent the day helping out with a variety of gardening projects and even got to plant an RSM tree!

Supporting EDGA

RSM Charity Golf Day in support of EDGA

RSM celebrated its long-established support of EDGA by inviting leading ‘G4D’ (golf for the disabled) players to a special charity tournament at Roganstown Hotel & Country Club on Thursday June 13 2024. RSM partners, staff and invited guests welcomed players who compete regularly in the 140 EDGA-run, badged or supported G4D tournaments held around the world.

Niall May, Managing Partner of RSM Ireland, said: "We were delighted to host this important charity event with EDGA and our colleagues at RSM UK, following on from the Irish Open for Golfers with Disability. EDGA does incredible work to widen participation among golfers with a disability and to raise the profile of the sport, and the golfers themselves are an inspiration to us all.

CSR over the years

Our previous charity partners have included Children’s Health Foundation Crumlin, Peter McVerry Trust and Business in the Community Ireland.

Our aims are to provide financial support through fundraising, contribute our time through volunteer work and raise awareness of the work of the fantastic charities we work with. Our fundraising events have included an abseil, golf outing, table quizzes, Christmas jumper days, a clothing drive, bake sales, charity cycles and runs.

Our cycle team were awarded the ‘Team Trophy’ at the Peter McVerry Trust Wexford cycle for our CSR efforts in 2018. We have also been shortlisted in the Chambers Ireland CSR Awards.
