The Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Consulting Senior to lead and deliver risk advisory engagements for clients across Kenya and East Africa. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Consulting Manager/Partner.
Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with client teams to ensure an understanding of client business, internal controls system, operating environment and financial processes under review
- Carrying out tasks, under the supervision of Consulting Manager/Partner, which include; Planning, execution and reporting for risk consulting engagements including internal audits, enterprise risk management, investigative and forensic audits, business processes reviews and compliance checks
- Adhere to the timeframe and escalate challenges or delays to the Consulting Manager/Partner immediately these are expected to arise
- Deliver high-quality reports and presentations to client leadership, including boards and audit committees
- Evaluate the design, adequacy, and effectiveness of internal controls, and provide clients with strategic advice on risk management and control enhancement opportunities
- Assist in business development including proposal writing, client pitches, and identifying new business opportunities
- Build long-term meaningful relationships with clients and contribute to the growth of the Risk Advisory practice
- Supervising the field team and ensuring that they are carrying out their work in accordance with the plan
- Reviewing work done by junior consultants and interns and providing them with mentorship and performance feedback
- Keeping abreast of changes in laws and regulations and technical standards in the Risk Advisory area
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team
- Assisting the Consulting Manager/Partner in developing newsletters and publications in areas identified by the Partner
- Carrying out any other tasks as delegated by the Consulting Manager/Partner from time-to-time
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Certifications preferred – ACCA or CPA (Kenya), CIA, CISA, CRMA, CFE is an added advantage
- A Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Membership with professional bodies such as ICPAK, IIA Kenya, or IRM Kenya is a plus
- 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in risk advisory, with 2 years at semi-senior level, preferably in a Kenyan or East African context
- Strong project management and client-facing skills
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.

- Good understanding key standards and frameworks such as GIAS, COSO ICIF & ERM frameworks, ICFR and relevant IFRS standards

- Strong leadership and client relationship management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct
