RSM Cyprus, as the official Platinum Sponsor of the 9th International Funds Summit & Expo, held on 23 and 24 October in Limassol, actively participated by presenting the new trends in the Private Equity sector on the Leader's stage and coordinating the stage of "The Impact Investing and Sustainability".

Jasper van Heesch, Private Equity Sector Senior Analyst & Coverage Director at RSM UK, gave an overview on the Leader's stage of the private equity market in Europe and the US, including its activities and prospects for 2024. 

Jasper discussed the opportunities and challenges faced by private equity managers and their portfolio companies in areas like fundraising, deal execution, portfolio company value creation, and exits. He shared how fundraising has been under pressure for some houses, but this asset class overall continues to attract funds, with an increasing concentration in the hands of the larger players. Investments have been negatively impacted by raised interest rates, with deal count dropping each quarter so far in 2023 to end Q3, but with near levels of "dry powder" to invest and the recent levelling off of interest rates, private equity investors are expected to continue to deploy capital as we move into 2024.  

The next day of the summit began just as dynamically, with the RSM Cyprus representative, who, in the introductory speech on ESG, shared a strong message with the attendees: "If now is not the right time to act, when will it be?"

RSM Cyprus representative pointed out that we all have a personal responsibility to create a sustainable future, regardless of our sector. Continuing, the RSM Cyprus representative mentioned that there have been numerous discussions about managing risk and reward in relation to the ESG framework. However, there is another factor that we need to consider in this context: the organisation's reputation and its future performance, based on the actions adopted today. Additionally, the RSM Cyprus representative discussed European legislation, EU Sustainability Reporting Standards, and Governance issues.

At the end of each session, participants had the opportunity to hear the views of notable experts and representatives from the authorities who participated in the panels.

The conference was held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus and the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission.

H RSM Cyprus, ως επίσημος Platinum Sponsor του 9ου International Funds Summit & Expo, που πραγματοποιήθηκε στις 23 και 24 Οκτωβρίου στη Λεμεσό, συμμετείχε ενεργά παρουσιάζοντας τις νέες τάσεις στο τομέα των Επενδυτικών Ταμείων. 

Συγκεκριμένα ομιλητές από την Εταιρεία συμμετείχαν στις ενότητες «Leader’s stage» και «ESG stage» κάνοντας αναφορά σε κύρια σημεία που αφορούν επενδυτικά κεφάλαια, ευρωπαϊκή νομοθεσία για ESG, πρότυπα ελέγχου και διαδικασίες διακυβέρνησης. 

Η πρώτη ημέρα του συνεδρίου ξεκίνησε δυναμικά με την ενότητα του Leader’s stage όπου διακεκριμένοι ομιλητές του κλάδου διαχείρισης περιουσιακών στοιχείων παρουσίασαν τις δικές τους απόψεις για τον τομέα. O Jasper van Heesch, Private Equity Sector Senior Analyst & Coverage Director, RSM UK παρουσίασε τις προοπτικές και δραστηριότητες των Ιδιωτικών επενδυτικών κεφαλαίων (Private Equity Funds) μέχρι το 2024 σε Ευρώπη και ΗΠΑ.

Συγκεκριμένα, ο Jasper στην παρουσίαση του μίλησε για τις ευκαιρίες και τις προκλήσεις που αντιμετωπίζουν οι εταιρείες διαχείρισης κεφαλαίων, κάνοντας αναφορά στην άντληση κεφαλαίων, στην πραγματοποίηση συμφωνιών και στην αξία των χαρτοφυλακίων. Παράλληλα, ανάφερε ότι η συγκέντρωση κεφαλαίων για κάποιους οίκους αποτελεί πρόκληση.  Επίσης, τόνισε ότι παρόλο που οι επενδύσεις έχουν επηρεαστεί αρνητικά από τις μεταβολές των επιτοκίων, και παρόλο που ο αριθμός των συμφωνιών μειώθηκε έως και το τέλος του 3ου τριμήνου του 2023, τα επίπεδα συσσώρευσης κεφαλαίων για επενδύσεις είναι σταθερά, και οι επενδυτές ιδιωτικών κεφαλαίων αναμένεται να συνεχίσουν να αναπτύσσουν κεφάλαια καθώς προχωράμε στο 2024.    

Η επόμενη ημέρα ξεκίνησε εξίσου δυναμικά με τον εκπρόσωπο της RSM Cyprus να μεταφέρει στην εισαγωγική του ομιλία για την ενότητα του ESG στους παρευρισκόμενους το ηχηρό μήνυμα, «Εάν δεν είναι τώρα η κατάλληλη ώρα να δράσουμε; Πότε θα είναι;» 

Με αφετηρία τα ερωτήματα αυτά ο εκπρόσωπος της RSM Cyprus επισήμανε ότι όλοι έχουμε προσωπική ευθύνη για τη δημιουργία ενός βιώσιμου μέλλοντος, ανεξαρτήτου του τομέα που βρισκόμαστε. Συνεχίζοντας, ανάφερε ότι πολλές είναι οι συζητήσεις που γίνονται για το ρίσκο σε σχέση με την ανταμοιβή/απόδοση της κάθε μας ενέργειας. Υπάρχει όμως ακόμη ένας παράγοντας που πρέπει να εντάξουμε στη συνάρτηση αυτή, και αυτός είναι η φήμη του οργανισμού και η μελλοντική του απόδοση βάση των ενεργειών που υιοθετούνται. Κλείνοντας την εισαγωγική του τοποθέτηση αναφέρθηκε σε θέματα που αφορούν την Ευρωπαϊκή νομοθεσία, τα πρότυπα ελέγχου καθώς και τη θέσπιση διαδικασιών διακυβέρνησης. 

Μετά το πέρας της κάθε ενότητας οι παρευρισκόμενοι είχαν την ευκαιρία να ακούσουν τις απόψεις κορυφαίων ειδικών και εκπροσώπων των αρχών που συμμετείχαν στα πάνελ. 

Το συνέδριο τελούσε υπό την αιγίδα του Προέδρου της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας και της Επιτροπής Κεφαλαιαγοράς Κύπρου.
