RSM Cyprus awards excellence for the Most Innovative Recommendation at the ICAEW Business Games 

On 30 November 2022, the Business Games were held by ICAEW in collaboration with the University of Cyprus. Students had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills on a business challenge by taking the role of a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and developing strategic advice in response to a real-life business issue.  

At the same time, the students had the opportunity to present their strategies to acknowledged Chartered Accountants in the field. The Chartered Accountants had to act as members of the company's Board of Directors in question, intending to evaluate the performance of the students in terms of innovation, leadership, team collaboration, ethics, analytical thinking, presentation skills, and professional approach. 

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, RSM Cyprus warmly supports these initiatives that aim to strengthen students' education and practical training. Marios Charalambides, Partner and Head of the Financial Services Department, acted as a member of the Board of Directors, and Nicole Stavrinidou, Quality Assurance Director, took the role of a mentor of one of the teams that took part in the Business Games. 

After the presentations and evaluation, RSM awarded the team with the Most Innovative Recommendation. The winning team of the RSM award included Antonis Ioannides, Andreas Michael, Andreas Loukaides, Andreas Antoniou, Sergios Ashagerdian, and Kypros Katsiamis, students of Accounting and Finance at the University of Cyprus.   

Mr. Marios Charalambides congratulated all the students for their excellent presentations. He also praised them for their courage in presenting their business strategies to such a large audience. At the same time, his advice to the students was to be confident in what they are doing. Confidence is a key component for every Chartered Accountant.  

Also, during the Business Games, the students had the opportunity to discuss internships, placements and training opportunities, and career development concerns with the audit, tax, and consulting companies present.

Η RSM Cyprus βραβεύει την αριστεία για την πιο καινοτόμο ιδέα στα Business Games του ICAEW στους φοιτητές του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου. 

Στις 30 Νοεμβρίου 2022, πραγματοποιήθηκαν από το ICAEW σε συνεργασία με το Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου τα Business Games όπου φοιτητές καλέστηκαν να αναλάβουν το ρόλο ενός Εγκεκριμένου Λογιστή (Chartered Accountant - ACA) και να αναλύσουν ένα πραγματικό επιχειρηματικό πρόβλημα που αντιμετώπιζε μια Εταιρεία.   

Παράλληλα, οι φοιτητές είχαν την ευκαιρία να παρουσιάσουν τις εισηγήσεις τους μπροστά σε Επαγγελματίες από Διεθνείς Οργανισμούς οι οποίοι είχαν το ρόλο του Διοικητικού Συμβούλου στην εν λόγω εταιρεία. Στόχος τους να αξιολογήσουν την απόδοση των φοιτητών ως προς την καινοτομία, τρόπο προσέγγισης του προβλήματος, ηγεσία, συνεργασία ομάδας, ηθική, αναλυτική σκέψη και γενικότερα τρόπου παρουσίασης και προσέγγισης του προβλήματος.      

Η RSM Cyprus στα πλαίσια της δράσης της για Εταιρική και Κοινωνική Ευθύνη, στηρίζει θερμά τέτοιες αξιόλογες πρωτοβουλίες που έχουν ως στόχο την ενδυνάμωση της εκπαίδευσης και της πρακτικής εξάσκησης των φοιτητών.   

O κ. Μάριος Χαραλαμπίδης, Συνέταιρος και Επικεφαλής του Τμήματος Χρηματοοικονομικών Υπηρεσιών ανέλαβε το ρόλο του του μέλους στο Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο και η κα Νικόλ Σταυρινίδου, Quality Assurance Director ανέλαβε το ρόλο του μέντορα σε μια από τις ομάδες που έλαβαν μέρος.     

Μετά το πέρας της αξιολόγησης η RSM βράβευσε την ομάδα με την πιο καινοτόμο ιδέα. Συγχαρητήρια  στους φοιτητές Αντώνη Ιωαννίδη, Ανδρέα Μιχαήλ, Ανδρέα Λουκαΐδη, Ανδρέα Αντωνίου, Σέργιο Ashagerdian και Κύπρο Κατσιάμη, φοιτητές του κλάδου Accounting and Finance στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου, που απάρτιζαν την ομάδα. 

Μετέπειτα, ο κ. Μάριος Χαραλαμπίδης, συγχάρηκε όλους τους φοιτητές για τις εξαιρετικές τους παρουσιάσεις και επαίνεσε τους φοιτητές για το θάρρος που επέδειξαν στο να παρουσιάσουν τις επιχειρηματικές τους στρατηγικές μπροστά σε τόσο μεγάλο κοινό. Παράλληλα, η συμβουλή του προς τους φοιτητές ήταν να έχουν αυτοπεποίθηση σε αυτό που κάνουν για να πετύχουν τα αποτελέσματα που θέλουν.  

Επίσης, κατά τη διάρκεια των Business Games οι φοιτητές είχαν την ευκαιρία να μιλήσουν με τις εταιρείες και να συζητήσουν τις ευκαιρίες πρακτικής εξάσκησης και κατάρτισης καθώς και τους προβληματισμούς για την εξέλιξη της καριέρας τους.
