The role

Due to the expansion of our team, we are looking for an experienced Accounting & Tax Manager to lead and manage multiple accounts and projects of the Accounting and Tax Department in the Athens office and to ensure that clients receive a quality service in all respects.  

Job description

  • Lead accounting, tax consulting and compliance services to clients ensuring compliance with Greek GAAP, IFRS and tax laws.
  • Supervise journal entries, reconciliations and monthly/annual closing processes.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly reporting and annual financial statements under Greek GAAP or IFRS
  • Manage accounting systems implementation and upgrades when necessary.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns (Corporate Income Tax, VAT, withholding taxes, transfer pricing filings, ad hoc filings)
  • Monitor changes in tax laws, informing clients about their impact.
  • Assist with tax audits and interact with tax authorities on behalf of clients.
  • Take ownership of engagements, demonstrate good project management skills
  • Ensure completion of each assignment to a high-quality standard, within the budget and meeting deadlines
  • Deliver excellent client service
  • Coordinate and work in a team of qualified, highly motivated professionals and assess their performance
  • Build strong relationships and interact with multiple clients
  • Coordinate with other departments (consulting, legal, payroll) to provide integrated services
  • Contribute to proposal creation and submission
  • Participate in business development efforts

Job Requirements

  • At least 8 years of professional experience in Accounting & Tax Advisory or Compliance services.
  • Degree in Accounting / Economics
  • In-depth knowledge of Greek GAAP
  • Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP would be considered a plus
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Proficiency with Accounting & ERP systems  
  • Strong analytical, presentation and report writing skills
  • Committed to excellence; efficient and effective when it comes to deadlines
  • Able to identify business opportunities and contribute to the practice through proactive interactions with Firm’s and clients' senior management
