Today, we mark a watershed moment for the RSM network, as we announce the adoption of ‘RSM’ as a single global brand name. The brand name is accompanied by both a new strapline, “The power of being understood” and logo.
There is no understating the importance of this decision.
Over a year ago, driven by our desire to develop a global brand that supports the network’s business goal to be the audit, tax and advisory provider of choice to entrepreneurial and growth focused businesses, we commissioned a leading independent research firm to conduct an extensive study into our member firms, clients and prospects, across the world. The feedback we received confirmed that RSM is a powerful global brand, recognised for its passionate focus on collaboration, deep understanding, and insight, and that by uniting together under the RSM brand, we can more effectively focus together on our united global strategy. For our clients, it will signify that they are working with a service partner which is very global, very connected and a strong international organisation offering the same experience, policies and procedures whether they are working in Birmingham, Brussels or Botswana.
This change, which will be effective from 26th October, is a distinct move for our network as all RSM member firms will adopt the unified name, strapline and logo. For some members this is a significant change and for many others not so as they already go to market as RSM in their country. In the US, RSM member firm McGladrey, the 5th largest in the country, will be changing to RSM and our member firm in the UK, Baker Tilly, will also be adopting ’RSM’ on 26 October. At a time when our clients are increasingly global, we recognise the importance of having a unified brand in which to put their trust. We believe that this rebrand will reinforce our global network’s dedication to helping clients feel understood and empowered.
It has long been said that good things come in three’s. I am inclined to agree. Last year, RSM celebrated its 50th anniversary. In January 2015, the IAB World Survey listed RSM as the fastest growing top ten global network, posting an 18% increase in revenue, year-on-year, to US$4.4 billion for the year ending 31 December 2014. And now, our members are uniting under one name.
I am very excited about the opportunities this next chapter in our history will bring to our member firms and their people, and of course, to our clients across the world.
