The Malta Financial Services Authority has started to receive applications in terms of the Company Service Providers Act for authorisations of CSPs. The new regime has brought about changes to the regulatory framework of CSPs. While previously lawyers, notaries public, legal procurators and certified public accountants were exempt from obtaining authorisation by the MFSA, they are now obliged to apply for such authorisation. Moreover, CSPs will now be categorised into classes depending on the type of services offered. A copy of the application form to obtain CSP authorisation may be accessed from the MFSA website.

For more information, one can refer to this notice issued by the MFSA, to the Company Services Providers Act and to the newly updated CSP Rulebook.
