The Malta Financial Services Authority has published its Anti-Money Laundering/Countering Financing Terrorism supervisory strategy as part of its objective to strengthen the role and position the Authority in supporting the Financial Services industry in Malta.

In the publication issued yesterday, Chief Executive Officer, Mr.Joseph Cuschieri stated that the Authority will be placing money laundering and terrorist financing as one of the key priorities in strengthening  our regulatory system in Malta. As part of its commitment to achieve its objective the MFSA has issued 'The MFSA’s AML/CFT supervisory strategy document'.

The strategy is focused on enhancing the MFSA’s approach towards its role in AML/CFT supervision but also to enhance its supervisory standards in order to safeguard the integrity and trust in the Maltese financial services sector.
