Over the next four months, 11 exclusive business events will take place across Europe, where the continent’s best businesses will be honoured as ‘National Champions’ in this year’s European Business Awards, sponsored by RSM.

At the events, business leaders from 20 countries will come together to celebrate their success and network with their peers.

Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards, the continent’s largest cross sector business competition, said: “These events not only celebrate the success of our dynamic National Champions in the competition but also the key role they play in Europe’s strong business community.”

Lead sponsor RSM, is the sixth largest network of independent audit, tax and consulting firms worldwide, and has supported the European Business Awards since its inception.

Jean Stephens, CEO of RSM said: “The National Champions are stand-out leaders, demonstrating businesses tenacity and commercial excellence. These companies will lead the way forward bringing growth and prosperity across the continent and beyond. I would like to congratulate them all and wish them luck in the coming rounds”.

A panel of independent judges, including senior business and academic leaders, selected 636 National Champions from 34 European countries this year, after the European Business Awards engaged with over 33,000 companies at the entry stage of the competition.

In the next round, the National Champions will put forward a video telling their unique story and explaining their business success. In February, the judges will choose the top ten National Champions in each of the competition’s 11 categories, and the overall category winners will be announced at the Gala Final in May 2017.

Separately the videos will be hosted on the European Business Awards’ website www.businessawardseurope.com for a public vote. The company with the most votes from each country will be named ‘National Public Champion’; and after a second vote, one overall ‘European Public Champion’ will be announced at the Gala Final. Last year over 227,000 votes were cast as companies were supported globally by their clients, staff and peers, as well as the general public.
