If you could go back to your first day here, what advice would you give yourself?
If I could go back to my first day, I would tell myself to focus not just on technical accuracy, but to intentionally build strong relationships and networks with colleagues, clients, the community, and especially within my team. Technical skills will grow over time, but it’s the connections you build that truly support your growth, open doors to learning, and make the journey more meaningful. Strong relationships are what turn tasks into teamwork and challenges into opportunities. I’d also remind myself to take moments to pause, recharge, and enjoy the things I love.
What has been your most rewarding career moment so far?
My most rewarding career moments have come from growing with my team. It has been incredibly fulfilling to reflect on the growth of my team members and myself, becoming more confident, skilled, and proactive. As we’ve grown together, the firm has grown with us - in capacity, client relationships, and overall impact. But for me, it's deeper than just professional development. Assurance and audit is my thing and I’m genuinely passionate about it. I always tell myself: if I decide to do something, I’ll do it well. I’ll do it with commitment. Because when you truly love something, it’s not just work, it’s your purpose. That purpose drives me to give my best not just on deliverables, but in building others up too.
What RSM value resonates most with you and why?
Respect and uncompromising integrity are values that resonate well with me. Whether it's respecting deadlines, client expectations, team members’ time, or different perspectives, it's at the heart of how we build strong relationships and maintain professionalism. I’ve learned that even small acts of respect go a long way in creating a positive work culture. Also upholding ethical standards, even when it’s difficult, it ensures my work remains credible and respected.
How would you refer to RSM Eastern Africa if asked by a friend or family?
RSM is home. It’s my second family. Beyond the technical work, it’s a place where I feel supported, challenged, and constantly growing. The people genuinely care, and the culture encourages both personal and professional development. It’s a firm with high standards, but also one that values its people deeply.
What future trend or idea excites you most in your field?
The future trend that excites me most in our field is the integration of Artificial Intelligence into audit processes. It’s exciting to see how AI is pushing the profession to be more forward-looking and value-driven. AI is changing how we do business, how we relate to clients, and how we deliver insights; moving us beyond routine tasks to more strategic, high-impact work. It’s not just innovation; it’s evolution. And I’m ready for it.
Who are you outside RSM?
I’m someone who really values balance and the simple joys in life. I’m a passionate football fan and a staunch Chelsea supporter, so my weekends often involve catching matches and keeping up with the team. I’m also a big fan of Rhumba music; you’ll often find me vibing to its rich melodies. It’s not just music to me; it’s a mood. Whenever I get the chance, I love walking along the beach. It’s my way of relaxing, clearing my mind, and recharging after a busy week.
What’s a surprising or little-known fact about you?
I’m a bit of a chess person! I can lose track of time completely when I’m deep in a game. It’s one of the few times I don’t mind sitting still for hours.
If you had a superpower at work, what would it be?
If I had a superpower at work, it would be the ability to freeze time; not to escape the work, but to create space to think, breathe, support my team better, and get ahead of the curve. Every deadline would be a piece of cake. But more than that, I’d use that time to lift others up and walk with my team through challenges without the pressure of the ticking clock.
